Westfield Police Find 'No Credible Evidence' Of Threat To Schools
Social media posts are circulating nationwide warning of school violence on Dec. 17.
WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield police are remaining vigilant on local schools but said there is "no credible information to indicate this threat is specific to any school in Westfield, or even any school in New Jersey," Police Chief Christopher Battiloro said.
A nationwide challenge pushing violence in schools on Friday has spread on social media platforms like TikTok. Multiple law enforcement agencies across the country say they are monitoring reports of the challenge.
“The Westfield Police Department is always monitoring communications provided by the New Jersey Regional Operations Intelligence Center and other law enforcement fusion centers,” stated Chief Battiloro, "Nevertheless, we must always remain vigilant at all times."

As always, Chief Battiloro urges anyone who observes any suspicious persons, vehicles and/or activities to immediately report them to the Westfield Police Department via 9-1-1.
