Westfield Emergency Response To Get $50K Upgrades: See What's New

A donation from a local church is funding the improvements.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Redeemer Lutheran Church donated $49,450 to the Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad as part of the congregation's 100th anniversary.

The group chose to honor their commitment to service by supporting a local organization that responds to the needs of Westfield residents. The Rescue Squad has been serving the neighborhood through emergency care and community service for decades.

"We are incredibly honored to be chosen by Redeemer Lutheran Church during such a meaningful milestone in their history," Callie Campbell, President of the Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad, said.

The money will be put towards upgrading a Chevrolet Tahoe into a dedicated emergency services vehicle and mobile command system. This will, in turn, upgrade the team's ability to respond to large emergencies, prolonged situations, and firefighter rehabilitation efforts.
