Update: The Washington Township Planning Board meeting this week has been canceled, but the cellphone tower plan is expected to be heard at their February 6 meeting.
The Washington Township Planning Board is expected to begin hearing a plan for a cellphone tower at the Municipal Complex during their meeting this week, though an agenda was not yet available online Sunday.
Verizon plans to build 120-foot monopole with external antennas on the north side of property containing the township's office, Police Department and public works. The base of the tower and its equipment will be surrounded by an 8-foot white vinyl fence which will be designed to match the complex's Colonial style.

Some township residents previously debated the location of the tower, but moving the site could have caused some legal problems according to Kenneth Poller, the township's attorney.
Poller said in December that Verizon had completed and submitted its plans for the site and the planning board hearings would start soon.
