Hillsdale School Board Seat Draws Four Applicants

The board needs to find a replacement for Debbie Loganchuk, who is resigning March 1.

A seat opening on the Hillsdale Board of Education has drawn four applicants, according to district Business Administrator Lirca Garcia.

The board is searching for a new member to replace Debbie Loganchuk, who is resigning March 1.

Loganchuk previously said she felt it was "time to move on" as her children have grown up. She has been a member of the board since March 2006.

"It's been a wonderful experience," Loganchuk said.

Board members are responsible for voting on a variety of issues affecting borough schools, including policies, personnel, finances and curriculum. The board will interview the four applicants and then choose one.

The next Hillsdale Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Monday at 7:30 p.m.
