LISTEN: Postmaster Calls Cops To Save Mailman From Turkey Attack
Patrol car's sirens needed to scare off gaggle of birds in Hillsdale, New Jersey.

HILLSDALE, N.J. – The inscription found on the General Post Office in New York City reads, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”
But nowhere does it say the mail will be delivered through an attack of wild turkeys.
For one mail carrier in Hillsdale this week, that’s exactly what he was up against, as a band of turkeys attacked his mail truck and stopped him from fulfilling his duties.
In a 9-1-1- call to local dispatch, the postmaster says, “You’re not going to believe this,” and goes on to explain the situation his employee is enduring on Esplanade Drive.
After a few chuckles between postmaster and dispatcher, a police officer is dispatched to the area.
Tom Smith of the Hillsdale Police Department drove by and blasted the patrol car’s sirens, according to CBS2, which cause the birds to take off.
