Carteret Man, 23, Dies In A Suicide Wednesday

CARTERET, NJ — The prosecutor is not releasing many details about the incident but confirmed that a Carteret man took his own life in a suicide Wednesday.

At 2:47 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the area of Pershing and Union avenues after receiving a 911 call from a member of the victim’s family saying the young man, 23, had shot himself.

Upon arrival, officers located one male victim, who sustained a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
