Driver Ran Off In Fatal Woodbridge Car Crash Friday

There was a fatal car accident Friday in Woodbridge, where a passenger in the car​ died and the driver ran off before police got there:

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — There was a fatal car accident Friday morning in Woodbridge, where a South Plainfield man — who was a passenger in the car — died, and the driver of the car ran off before police got there, and still remains at large.

The crash occurred at 9:05 a.m. Friday in the area of Rt. 9 and Green Street in Woodbridge.

It was a single car crash, with only one vehicle involved. Upon arrival to the scene, Woodbridge Police located a 2017 Kia Sportage that was occupied by only the front passenger, Mario Ortiz Bonilla, 47, of North Plainfield.

Bonilla had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police say the driver of the Kia Sportage fled the scene.
