Woodbridge Girl Scouts Donate To St. James Food Pantry
Peter Barcellona, director of We Feed Woodbridge, explained to the girls how exactly a food pantry works:
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Last Tuesday, May 21, these Woodbridge Girl Scouts from Troops #85935, #85307 and #85302 visited St. James Food Pantry.
The girls donated more than 100 boxes of Girl Scout cookies and other essentials. But their visit was more than just a drop-off: The Girl Scouts shelved their donations, checked expiration dates and learned the registration process for pantry clients.
They also met with Peter Barcellona, director of We Feed Woodbridge, which is actually an umbrella organization of 11 food pantries in the area. Barcellona explained to the children how exactly a food pantry works, and the critical role it plays in helping those in need in our community.
