Woodbridge's Cypress Park II Now Open, Take A Tour

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Wednesday was the grand opening of the all-new Cypress Park II in Woodbridge.

The brand-new park is part of the expanded Cypress Park Recreational Complex at 915 West Avenue in Port Reading.

Mayor John McCormac, the Woodbridge town Council and Woodbridge PBA #38 were on hand for the grand opening Wednesday, along with lots of Woodbridge schoolkids and young athletes from the town's Rec leagues.

The new park has:

• Two street hockey rinks
• ADA-accessible elevated bleachers for watching street hockey games
• Refurbished soccer fields
• A level playing field that can be used for youth baseball, softball and soccer
• Restroom facilities
• Volleyball and pickleball courts with lighting for nighttime play
• A brand-new playground
• A lighted walkway that goes around the perimeter, with exercise stations on it.

The Cypress Park Recreational Complex was funded through $2.5 million in Recreational Facilities Special Needs Improvement grants from the state of New Jersey and the federal government.
