Bergen County Woman Arrested For Assaulting Child, Prosecutors Say
An Oakland woman was charged with assault Sunday for abusing a minor, prosecutors said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Bergen County woman has been charged with assault for abusing a child, prosecutors said.
Cecilia Murillo Viera, 36, of Oakland, was charged Sunday with simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors said that on Sunday, the Oakland Police Department contacted them "regarding alleged child abuse."

An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Oakland Police Department determined that Viera physically abused a juvenile under age 16 in Oakland, prosecutors said.
She was arrested in Oakland on the charges and taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
