Bergen Woman Ejected from Vehicle After Car Spins Out in Wyckoff

The woman, who police say was not wearing a seat belt, suffered head injuries.

A Bergen County woman was rushed to the hospital after being ejected from her car while it spun out of control in Wyckoff Sunday morning.

Wyckoff Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 208 north between Grandview Avenue and Cedar Hill Avenue at 10:45 a.m. and determined a 2005 Jeep Liberty driven by Nicole Laskau, 31, of Hackensack, ”spun out of control on the roadway that had extreme icing conditions,” Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin C. Fox said.

The Jeep struck a utility pole with its rear and Laskau, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.

Laskau sustained head injuries and was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where her condition is unknown at this time, according to police.

Route 208 north was closed for about one hour to allow police to conduct the investigation.

There were 231 accidents and 103 “aids” reported by the State Police between midnight and 10 a.m. Sunday, as Northeast New Jersey battled freezing rain and slick roads.
