Celebrate Earth Day and Sustainability in Franklin Lakes

Franklin Lakes is celebrating Earth Day and their new status as a sustainable community this Sunday.

Franklin Lakes is asking residents to come out and celebrate Earth Day at the Public Library on Sunday, April 21, from 2-4 p.m. This year, Earth Day is carrying a little extra meaning in the borough.

On February 28, Franklin Lakes was officially recognized as a sustainable community by Sustainable Jersey.  Communities complete certain actions that allow them to qualify as a sustainable community.

To celebrate their new distinction Randall Solomon, Assistant Director of Sustainable Jersey, will be there as a guest speaker.  There will be food, prizes and giveaways for both children and adults. Information on clean water actions and sustainable activities will also be available.
