
A Franklin Lakes man was arrested recently on narcotics charges after a traffic stop.
Matthew G. Aslan, 23, was initially stopped on Franklin Avenue at 1:11 a.m. April 8 for having an inoperative tail light. However, police said a plastic bag containing marijuana was found in the car, as were several more bags commonly used to package marijuana.
Aslan was charged with possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, improper maintenance of lamps and failure to exhibit a driver's license. He is scheduled to appear in Municipal Court on May 3.

- Six teens were charged after police said they were spotted drinking beer at the vacant A&P at the Greenwood Avenue shopping center.
Sgt. Daniel Kellogg said the group of alleged underage drinkers had a 30-pack of beer in their possession when he came upon them in the parking lot at 2:20 a.m. April 11. Police charged Phillip D. Reed, 18, and Anthony Ardizzone, 18, both of Wayne, on criminal complaints of possession of alcohol while under the legal drinking age. Both Reed and Ardizzone will have to answer the charges in Municipal Court.
The other four teens arrested were all minors from Midland Park, Glen Rock and Wayne. They will be charged on juvenile complaints and referred to the county's Juvenile Court.

- A Ridgewood man was arrested twice recently on charges of violating a restraining order.
The village resident was initially charged on April 7 after a 59-year-old Wyckoff woman told police her son had been harassing her despite a previously issued restraining order. The man was released on $1,000 bail, with the complaint being referred to Superior Court. However, the Ridgewood man was again arrested on April 12 after his mother filed a report alleging her son harassed her via Facebook. The son was again charged with violating a restraining order.
