New NJ Transit Station To Open In Bergen County: See When, Where
A new transit station in Bergen county will replace an older one when it opens in a few weeks.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — NJ Transit celebrated the construction a new train station in Bergen County on Monday, and they expect to open it in two months.
Service will begin at the new Lyndhurst rail station on June 8. At that time, the existing Kingsland station will close.
Transit officials said the Kingsland station was more than a century old and not ADA accessible.

The new station, located just east of the current station, is fully ADA accessible, with high platforms and new elevators, stairs, and canopies, Transit officials said.
The station was built with $30.9 million from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).

Lyndhurst station, located on the Main Line, serves more than 800 trips each weekday, officials said.
“The completion of the new Lyndhurst Station is another step in our ongoing commitment to modernize our rail network and provide fully accessible facilities for all customers,” said Transit President and CEO Kris Kolluri.
“NJ Transit customers will see a vibrant, accessible station when they board a train at the new Lyndhurst station,” said State Sen. Paul Sarlo.
"The new Lyndhurst station is a smart, forward-looking investment that improves mobility, strengthens our economy, and supports long-term growth across South Bergen,” said Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco III.

NJ Transit is the third largest transit system in the country with 166 rail stations, 62 light rail stations and more than 19,000 bus stops linking major points in New Jersey, New York, and Philadelphia.
