'Poor Box' Stolen From Wyckoff's St. Elizabeth Church, Police Say

The poor box of St. Elizabeth Church in Wyckoff was reported missing on Jan. 5 after an employee noticed the box had been taken from the church’s lobby.

“The free standing wooden box used to collect donations for those less fortunate was stolen along with the contents,” Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin C. Fox said.

Police say there is usually “several hundreds of dollars in the box when it is emptied,” though it is unknown exactly how much was allegedly taken.
