Wyckoff Athletes Well-Represented at Triathlon
Annual charitable event draws hundreds to Franklin Lakes

Wyckoff residents were among the hundreds who ran, swam and biked through Franklin Lakes Saturday for the annual Wyckoff-Franklin Lakes triathlon.
Residents Peter Ghiorse, 16, Max Roberts, 16, and Brian Correll, 18, took fifth, sixth and seventh among male athletes 19 and younger, while Bonnie McGuire, 19, and Jamie Pepper, 15, took sixth and seventh, respectively, in the female 19 and younger category.
James Mezzadri took fourth in the male 20-24 category, and Clare Scanlan also took fourth in the female 20-24 age bracket. Mary Cerami, 37, took seventh among females aged 35 to 39.

Wyckoff made an impact on the male 45-49 age bracket, with Gary Soderlund, Joe Grusser, James Hourihan, William Gahwyler and James Macaluso all finishing in the top 10. Among women, Marya Ostrowski finished ninth in the 45-49 bracket.
Jim Riley and Robert Dombrowski finished in the top 10 among males ages 50 to 54, as did Wendy Winer in the women's bracket. Peter Rutherford was tops among men aged 55 to 59.

Finally, Town Hall was well-represented, with Committeeman Brian Scanlan finishing 409 overall out of a field of 805. Additionally, Committeeman David Connolly, township Attorney Rob Landel and police Patrolman Brian Zivkovich formed a relay team for the 0.5-mile swim, 17-mile bike and 5-mile run.
