Wyckoff Man Crashes into Pole in Franklin Lakes Causing Wires to Come Down

The driver, Charles Williams, refused medical care and Orange & Rockland, Verizon and Cablevision responded for repairs.

A Wyckoff man crashed into a pole Monday morning, causing wires to come down and companies to respond for repairs.

Charles Williams of Wyckoff was driving a Nissan Sentra at 10:44 a.m. when he struck the poll on Route 208 South near Summit Avenue, according to Franklin Lakes Lt. John Bakelaar.

But Williams wasn’t the only driver involved in the incident. The Ridgefield Fire Chief’s vehicle was traveling north on Route 208 when the pole’s wires came down onto his vehicle and caused damage to the hood, windshield and roof.

No extraction was required for either vehicle and Williams refused medical attention, according to Lt. Bakelaar.
