Wyckoff PD Make DWI Arrest in School Parking Lot During School Hours

The 43-year-old man was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone and reckless driving.

Police say they made a DWI arrest at a Wyckoff school during school hours in early March.

Wyckoff Police responded to a “disturbance in the parking lot of St. Elizabeth School,” located at 700 Wyckoff Avenue, at 2:18 p.m. on Thursday, March 12 and arrested Michael J. Simons, 43, of Waldwick, according to Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin C. Fox.

Following a breath test, Simons was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone and reckless driving.

He was released to a friend and will appear in municipal court, Chief Fox said.
