Township wins two awards from Joint Insurance Fund

The township's attention to safety has won it recognition from its peers, complete with a $2,500 award.

The Silver Award was presented in acknowledgment of the township losing very little time from employees, its overall safety record and full completion of JIF's Safety Incentive Program. It is the 17th consecutive year that Wyckoff has been commended for compliance with the program.

The Joint Insurance Fund is a group of municipalities who join together to provide insurance for its member towns. It is the oldest municipal joint insurance fund in the state and currently has 38 members, according to a township release.

The Safety Committee consists of: Administrator Robert Shannon; administrative assistant Frances Piskadlo; police Chief Benjamin Fox; fire Chief David Murphy; CFO Diana McLeod; Clerk Joyce Santimauro; court Administrator Paulette Scandone; recreation Director Andy Wingfield; Construction Code Official Thomas Gensheimer; Public Works Manager Scott Fisher; Tax Assessor Susan Stevenson; Engineer Mark DiGennaro; and Janet Healey of the Wyckoff Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Additionally, Fox was recognized for his efforts to improve school crossing guard safety, namely by training the guards on how to deal with sun glare to reduce the possibility of accidents.
