The initiative, led by Attorney General Raúl Torrez, aims to link shell-casing evidence from cities and rural areas so local investigators can more quickly track repeat shooters and gun traffickers across New Mexico.

5. Las Cruces doctors push for legislation to stem New Mexico doctor shortage • Source New Mexico (sourcenm.com) — Santa Fe lawmakers are being pressed by Las Cruces doctors to overhaul medical malpractice rules and taxes they say are driving physicians out of New Mexico. The doctors traveled to the Capitol to urge quick action before shortages worsen, proposing caps on damages, limits on attorney fees, and changes to gross receipts taxes on medical services that currently generate hundreds of millions for state and local governments.
