2 Killed In Astoria Residence Fire Started By E-Bike, FDNY Says

A two-alarm fire was reported about 2:18 p.m. on Monday, bringing 25 units and 106 firefighters to 25-41 46th St.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — Two people were killed in a blaze that broke out at a residence in Astoria Monday, the city’s fire department said.

A two-alarm fire was reported about 2:18 p.m. on Monday, bringing 25 units and 106 firefighters to 25-41 46th St., officials said.

The flames were sparked after the battery of an e-bike that was charging inside the vestibule blew up, officials said.

A 7-year-old boy and a 19-year-old girl were killed after the flames erupted, the city's fire department said.

The fire was under control at 3:12 p.m., officials said.
