Adidas Sends Sneakers To Mount Sinai Queens Staff Amid Pandemic

Mount Sinai Queens workers spend most of their time fighting the coronavirus on their feet, so Adidas sent them brand-new pairs of sneakers.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — The hardworking physicians and staffers at Mount Sinai Queens spend most of their time fighting the new coronavirus on their feet, and now they have brand-new pairs of Adidas sneakers to help them stay standing.

The sportswear brand donated 130 pairs of shoes to the hospital's nurses, physicians, PAs, unit clerks, registrars and medical assistants, according to a Mount Sinai spokesperson, who said the sneakers were distributed across day and night shifts.

The donation was facilitated by Loic Villepontoux, who is friends with Mount Sinai Queens Chief of Emergency Medicine Ugo Ezenkwele.
