Burglar Steals Thousands From Long Island City Diner, Police Say
The man reportedly broke into Crescent Kitchen and stole around $2,500, police say.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS -- The NYPD is searching for a man who broke into a Long Island City diner and stole thousands of dollars from its cash register, police say.
Police said the man broke into the Crescent Kitchen, located at 23-42 30th Ave., at around 10 p.m. on Nov. 23 by shattering its front glass door after the diner had closed. Once inside, the man broke open the cash register and stole around $2,500 before fleeing the diner in an unknown direction, authorities said.
The man was caught on surveillance video inside the diner after it closed that night wearing a white jacket and light colored sweatpants. Police described him as around 30 years old, standing at 5'9" and weighing around 180 pounds.
