Health Insurance Enrollment Center Opens In Long Island City
New Yorkers can enroll for health insurance onsite at the center's grand opening on Wednesday.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — New Yorkers can soon enroll for health insurance from a new center in Long Island City.
City officials are slated to open the new health insurance enrollment office at 25-05 Queens Plaza North on Wednesday at noon, according to Mayor Bill de Blasio's office. Representatives from GetCoveredNYC, a citywide initiative focused on enrolling New Yorkers in health insurance, will be at the grand opening to help New Yorkers select a personalized plan.
The new enrollment location marks the third GetCoveredNYC site in Queens and is one of more than 40 sides citywide. It will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. during the Open Enrollment period, which lasts through January 31, 2018.

To enroll onsite, applicants must bring documents with their social security or Tax ID numbers, proof of income and proof of residence.
GetCoveredNYC launched in 2016 to helps New Yorkers enroll in healthcare insurance and access primary and preventive care. Representatives aim to engage uninsured residents by helping them understand their health insurance eligibility and walking them through the enrollment process, free of charge.
