LIC, Woodside To Add Carshare Parking Spots In Program Expansion: DOT

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — Long Island City, Woodside, Jamaica, and other neighborhoods in Queens are getting new parking spots reserved for the city’s carshare program, according to the Department of Transportation.

The city expanded its carshare program on Tuesday by installing 80 spots for Zipcar or Getaround cars in Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.

With the program, carshare members can reserve a vehicle, walk up to the car at their reservation time, and drive away, returning later to the same reserved spot.

The city expanded the program after designating over 280 parking spaces for carshare vehicles starting in 2018. Parking spaces were located in municipal parking lots and on streets in select neighborhoods.

• 41-44 44th Street

• 125-01 Sutter Avenue
