Man Steals Nearly $3K From Astoria Bank, Police Say
The man walked into Capital One on Monday and demanded money from the teller, before stealing nearly $3K, police said.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — Police are searching for a man who they say stole thousands of dollars from an Astoria bank on Monday.
On Nov. 8, around 4:12 p.m., a man walked into the Capital One Bank located at 30-17 Broadway and passed a note to the teller demanding money, according to the NYPD.
The bank worker complied, and passed the man $2,963, which he took and ran away with, police reported, adding that no one was hurt during the robbery.

A couple of days later, NYPD officials released a surveillance photo of the man who stole from the bank.

Police described him as a man in his mid 30's, with black hair, and facial hair. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, jean shorts, and black sneakers, officials said.

As of Thursday, Nov. 10, however, no arrests have been made and the case remains under investigation, according to police.
