Queens Train Groper Arrested, Charged With Sexual Abuse: NYPD

The man allegedly rubbed himself against a woman's backside and groped her on a 7 train in Long Island City, police say.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS -- A Queens man was arrested for allegedly grinding himself against a woman's backside and groping her aboard a 7 train in Long Island City, police said.

Officers arrested John Anturi, 42, of Flushing, on Dec. 5 at around 7:40 a.m. on charges of sexual abuse and forcible touching stemming from a Nov. 11 incident in which he allegedly rubbed his groin against a 28-year-old woman's backside while the two rode a northbound "7" train, the NYPD said. Anturi allegedly grabbed the woman's backside as she tried to get off the train at the 45th Road-Courthouse Square station, police said.

The woman was able to take photos of the alleged perpetrator (shown above) before he fled the subway in an unknown direction, police said.

Anturi is set to appear in Queens County Criminal Court on Dec. 8.
