Teen Attacked With Mop Stick, Robbed Of Shoes In Astoria Station: NYPD

The robbers punched, pushed, and hit the boy with a mop stick on the northbound R train platform at the Steinway Street subway station.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — Five robbers attacked a 15-year-old boy with a mop stick and took his sneakers at a subway station platform in Astoria on Sunday, police said.

The robbers punched, pushed, and hit the 15-year-old with a mop stick on the northbound R train platform at the Steinway Street subway station on March 12 about 4:30 p.m., the NYPD said.

The group later took off the boy's sneakers and fled, with the 15-year-old sustaining minor injuries, authorities said.

Police released images of the robbers on Wednesday.
