Mom Fatally Hit By Driver While Crossing Astoria Street: NYPD
MTA worker Karina Larino, 38, is survived by her 20-year-old daughter Olivia, according to the Transport Workers Union.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — An elderly SUV driver fatally struck a Queens mom in an Astoria street last week, police said Saturday.
Karina Larino, 38, was crossing near 21st Street and Astoria Park South about 10 p.m. Friday when she was struck by the 73-year-old woman's 2005 Honda Element, police said.
The Honda driver was making a turn when she hit Larino, who was crossing the street outside the crosswalk, according to police.

Medics rushed Larino to Elmhurst Hospital but doctors couldn't save her life, said police.
The elderly driver stayed at the scene and wasn't hurt in the crash, police said.

Larino, a mother of one, was a longtime MTA Bus worker who worked as an assistant stock worker at the LaGuardia Depot, according to the Transport Workers Union.
The Queens mom is survived by her 20-year-old daughter Olivia, according to the union.
"She was loved and respected by all," the union said in a statement. "And will be sorely missed."
