Babylon Celebrates Valedictorian, Salutatorian Of 2025

Babylon Union Free School District has announced its valedictorian and salutatorian for the class of 2025.

BABYLON, NY — Hard work and dedication have earned two Babylon seniors top honors.

Babylon Junior-Senior High School has announced Riley Altman as the valedictorian and Jamisyn Cerny as the salutatorian for the class of 2025.

Riley has earned a GPA of 105.53. A standout student and leader, she has served as class president throughout high school, captained the varsity soccer team and led the debate club to regional success.

In addition to her leadership roles, Riley is a volunteer for Birthday Wishes of Long Island, bringing joy to children in homeless shelters since elementary school. She has also excelled in a rigorous course load of AP and honors classes and has maintained a perfect attendance record.

Riley plans to study business in college.

Jamisyn, with a GPA of 105.12, is known for her academic excellence and involvement in the arts and school community. She has appeared in every Babylon drama production throughout her high school career, trains in dance five days a week and competes as a vocalist.

She is a member of multiple honor societies, holds leadership roles in school clubs, and is known for her unwavering dedication and self-awareness.

In the fall, Jamisyn will pursue a degree in neuroscience and is currently finalizing her college decision.

"As principal, one of my greatest joys is watching our students thrive and excel in this vibrant community," said Babylon Junior-Senior High School Principal Al Cirone. "Throughout their high school careers, I’ve watched Riley and Jamisyn grow into the exceptional young adults they are today. They have demonstrated not only a can-do attitude and incredible work ethic but also leadership, talent, and empathy. Congratulations to them both. I know they will have bright futures ahead."
