BABYLON, NY —A favorite Babylon Village tradition returns this weekend after a pandemic pause. The annual Snapper Derby is set for Saturday at the Babylon Village dock.

Children ages four to 12 will receive free bait and fishing rods and compete to catch the biggest snapper. The event is free, open to the public and will start at 9 a.m. Weigh-in is at noon and kids can enjoy free hot dogs, soda and ice cream. Prizes will be given for heaviest fish and for "most unusual" catches.
