Babylon Village's 'Kentucky Derby' Fundraiser Planned At Conklin House

The cocktail party fundraiser, complete with a Derby hat contest and local clams, will raise funds for the historic landmark.

BABYLON, NY — Next month, "The Kentucky Derby" comes to Babylon Village, when the historic Nathaniel Conklin House hosts a themed fundraiser event.

Attendees are urged to "put on your most stylish hat and join us on the Green for appetizers and cocktails" on May 7, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The cocktail party will raise funds for the historic site's preservation. There will be appetizers from Captree Clam, drinks from local pub The Villager and live music with Don & The Law, provided by the Babylon Village Arts Council.

A hat contest will choose the most impressive Derby-esque hat. Tickets are available by advance purchase, $60 per person.

The Nathaniel Conklin House, built in 1803, is maintained as a community resource and historic landmark by the Village of Babylon.
