Beach Pass Update: Where And When To Get Babylon Beach Permits

Beach permits for Town of Babylon beaches are no longer available at Geiger Park, officials announced Friday.

BABYLON, NY — Beach permits for the Town of Babylon's beaches are no longer available at Geiger Park, town officials announced Friday.

Town of Babylon residents may purchase beach permits for the upcoming week at the times and locations listed below:

  • Monday, June 24, Tanner Park, from 2 to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 25, Tanner Park, from 2 to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 26, Venetian Shores Park, from 2 to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 26, Venetian Shores Park, from 2 to 6 p.m.

Starting on Saturday, June 29, beach permits can be purchased daily at the Gilgo Beach booth or on weekdays at Parks Administrative Building at Phelps Mansion from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At the end of May, town officials announced a new mobile beach permit system aiming to reduce long waits and improve beach accessibility. In addition to standard beach passes, residents can now obtain beach passes on their smartphones using the new Town of Babylon Yodel Portal.

According to the town, permits purchased on desktop computers will automatically be available in the Yodel Portal Wallet on mobile devices.

Meanwhile, residents who purchase beach passes on their phone can find instructions on how to access the Yodel Portal and obtain beach passes here.

According to the town's website, standard resident passes are $45. Meanwhile, passes are $20 for seniors 60 and over, active military and active Town of Babylon Volunteer Fire Department members.
