Brentwood Man Arrested After Pursuit, Crash With Police

Chase ends after suspect collides with unmarked police car in West Babylon.

A Brentwood man is facing a slew of charges after leading Suffolk County Police on a wild chase on early Friday morning.

Troy Farris, 26, of Brentwood, faces criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal mischief, unlawfully fleeing a police vehicle and resisting arrest after a pursuit through the area around 1 a.m. Friday, according to Newsday.

Officers said they attempted to stop Farris' car, a 2013 Chevy Cruze, on Sunrise Highway near Hubbards Path early Friday morning, but he did not stop.

Instead, police said, Farris allegedly led the officers on a chase ending after his vehicle collided with an unmarked police gang patrol unit.

Farris was arrested at the scene of the crash, near Lafayette Road and Manhattan Avenue.

Farris is scheduled for an arraignment today in First District Court in Central Islip.
