Drunk Driver Crashes Porsche On Fire Island Avenue: Police

A West Babylon man was charged with DWI after crashing a Porsche into a utility pole and the fence of a residence in Babylon, police say.

BABYLON, NY — A drunk driver crashed a Porsche into a residential fence in Babylon on Tuesday, Suffolk County police told Patch.

A 59-year-old West Babylon man was driving a 2023 Porsche sedan southbound on Fire Island Avenue near Lewis Circle on Tuesday around 8 p.m. when he hit a utility pole and crashed into a fence in front of 312 Fire Island Avenue, police said.

The man was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said he was charged with driving while impaired by "drugs/alcohol."
