Help a Young Babylon Woman Recover from a Brain Injury

A Babylon woman and her family need your help recovering from a hypoxic brain injury.

Catherine O'Malley, then 17 years old, reportedly collapsed on a lacrosse field on March 8, 2010 after suddenly going into a cardiac arrest and suffered from a hypoxic brain injury.

"Cat was in various hospitals for more than a year with my mom, my sister and me," her sister Shannon wrote on her GoFundMe donation page. "We moved out of our home to be by her side 24/7, making sure she not only received the best care possible, but also so she knew that she was NEVER alone."

All of the equipment for Catherine was customized for her to help rehabilitate her back to a normal life – however, Catherine will be "aging out" of her coverage and all therapy will be lost as she gets old.

Her sister Shannon started a GoFundMe campaign page to help fundraise and ask the community for helping getting one of their own back on her feet.

The campaign is seeking to raise over $50,000 for the rehabilitation of Catherine and has already climbed above $3,500 in a single day.
