Local Boy Scout Restores Village of Babylon Gazebo
Babylon Boy Scout Matthew Rudis helped restore Babylon American Legion memorial for his Eagle Scout project.
BABYLON VILLAGE, NY — A local Boy Scout decided to revamp an important community monument in West Babylon for his Eagle Scout project.
West Babylon's Matthew Rudis is a member of West Babylon Boy Scout Troop 2014. For his Eagle Scout project, Rudis decided to spearhead the restoration of the American Legion monument at the Village of Babylon Gazebo.
An upgrade was needed after the original stone had deteriorated and cracked after years of being exposed to the elements. Thanks to Rudis' project, a new stone is on display.
