Magnet Man Visits Students at John F. Kennedy Elementary
In-school field trip teaches students all about the properties of magnetic items.
Second-grade students of John F. Kennedy Elementary School in the West Babylon Union Free School District recently enjoyed a visit from "Magnet Man" Mark Wallrap, who took them on an interactive in-school field trip that built upon their study of magnets.
The unique workshop enabled students to further explore magnets in an engaging way. Students learned about the properties and varying strengths of magnets and took part in several activities that demonstrated these concepts.
“The children are always so excited by hands-on learning,” said second-grade teacher Melissa Joseph. “It provides them with an opportunity to bring their studies to life.”Information provided courtesy Alison DeMaria/Syntax.
