Overnight Detours Planned On Sunrise Highway: What To Know

TOWN OF BABYLON, NY — The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is advising motorists of upcoming overnight detours in both directions on Sunrise Highway in the Town of Babylon, to facilitate ongoing bridge repairs.

Traffic will be detoured onto the service road at Exit 39 (Hubbards Path) between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., beginning Tuesday, January 3, 2023, through Friday, January 6, 2023, weather permitting.

Motorists are urged to plan accordingly and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
