Town of Babylon Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Diesel

TOWN OF BABYLON, NY — Diesel, a 5-year-old American Bullly, is the Town of Babylon Animal Shelter's Adoptable Pet of the Week.

This brown-eyed boy arrived at the shelter on Feb. 28, 2022. A volunteer writes that Diesel is in search of a "dog savvy" and structured home, where he has to earn everything and where he is given limits so that he doesn't "take over."

"Diesel is working with staff and volunteers to learn manners especially given he can be rude in trying to snatch treats from your hand," they said.

Like many of us, food is the way to Diesel's heart, and it will be "the key to unlock all the doors" that lie ahead of him.

"Diesel loves to go on walks, and it is amazing how fast those little legs can move when he races around the big yard," they said.

He is dog friendly, a meet and greet is required for potential dog siblings. He prefers "lady friends" and has bonded closely with a small circle of friends at the shelter — and the love he shows them is unlike any other.

Diesel is a "work in progress to be comfortable with the guys that want to spend time" with him, but will be a great companion in the long run.
