Traffic Advisory: Babylon Roads Slated For Closure, Heavy Traffic

BABYLON VILLAGE, NY — The Suffolk County Police Department is advising motorists of road closures in Babylon due to several events slated to take place over the weekend.

I Love My Park Day will take place Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to noon at Argyle Lake Park in Babylon.

According to Parks & Trails New York, I Love My Park Day is the largest single-day volunteer event in New York state. It offers residents the opportunity to help clean up parks and shorelines, plant trees, restore trails, remove invasive species and work on various site improvement projects.

Also on Saturday, at 10 a.m., the Lodestar Wheels for Wellness mental health bike ride starts and ends at the Babylon Village Gazebo at 244 West Main Street.

In West Babylon on Sunday, the Wear Red or Go Naked Parade takes place from 9 to 11 a.m. and runs from Santapogue Elementary School going west on Herzel Boulevard.

The First Precinct advises motorists to use alternate routes to avoid "traffic congestion and possible heavy traffic."
