W. Babylon Resident Graduates Summa Cum Laude, Valedictorian

A West babylon resident graduated at the top of his class from St. Joseph's College last month.

Brian Hicks, a West Babylon resident, graduated summa cum laude from St. Joseph’s College during a ceremony held on May 28 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale.

Brian was awarded a B.A. in English. Brian graduated as valedictorian and received the Scholar Athlete Award for 2013.

While at St Joseph's, he was a member of Sigma Iota Chi, Kappa Gamma Phi and Delta Epsilon Sigma and was president of the SJC chapter of Sigma Tau Delta (The International English Honor Society). Brian participated in events with the Honor’s Association, played tennis for three years with SJC and tutored at the Academic Center for a year and a half.

Brian will be heading to King’s College in England in the fall to pursue a Master of Arts in English Literature.
