1 Dead After 3-Vehicle Crash On Long Island: Police

A Long Island man was killed on Saturday after the driver of a Bentley SUV crashed into a 3-wheel motorcycle he was driving, police say.

MASSAPEQUA, NY— A Bay Shore man was killed in a car crash on Saturday in Massapequa, according to Nassau police.

Police said Brian Romero Guy August, 19, of Medford, was driving a 2023 white Bentley SUV with a 30-year-old male passenger heading eastbound around 9:03 p.m. when he was stopped in the left turning lane at Unqua Road and decided to turn right across all lanes of traffic on Sunrise Highway.

When he turned, he struck a white Polaris Slingshot three-wheeled motorcycle driven by Willie Singleton, 48, of Bay Shore, with a 47-year-old female passenger, traveling eastbound in the middle lane on Sunrise Highway, police said.

The impact caused the motorcycle to crash into a white Kia SUV that was stopped at a traffic light on Unqua Road and into a utility pole, police said.

The KIA was driven by a 44-year-old male, and was occupied with a 41 year old female and four children aged 11, 10, 8 and 2, but weren't injured, police said.

Singleton suffered severe injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His passenger also suffered serious injuries but is in stable condition, police said.

August and his passenger were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, police said.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault and driving while intoxicated, and will be arraigned when medically practical, police said.
