3 Arrested After Ruckus On Fire Island Ferry
Two men were fighting and another tried to climb over a safety railing, police say.

BAY SHORE, NY – Three people were arrested after they caused disturbances aboard a Fire Island ferry Saturday night, Suffolk Police said.
Two passengers, 22-year-old Michael Maccarrone and 21-year-old Brandon Abad, began fighting on the ferry “Firebird” after it departed Ocean Bay Park at about 9:45 p.m., police said. The two men were restrained by ferry security personnel.
Soon after the first incident, another passenger, 22-year-old Jacob McKeown, climbed atop a seat on the upper deck and attempted to climb over a safety railing, police said. McKeown was restrained by a security officer.

The ferry’s captain called 911 and the boat was met by Marine Bureau and Third Precinct officers upon its arrival at the Fire Island Ferry Terminal on Maple Avenue in Bay Shore, where the three men were placed under arrest. There were no injuries reported.
Maccarone, of Miller Place, Abad, of Port Jefferson, and McKeown, of Sound Beach were charged with disorderly conduct. They were issued field appearance tickets and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Oct. 31.
