Bay Shore Bakery Under New Ownership After 'Difficult Decision'

BAY SHORE, NY — After two years of business, a Bay Shore bakery will go under new ownership.

Amanda's Bakery Co., located at 184 W. Main St., said in a social media post that the business was to cookie entrepreneur, Cookie Kneads.

Its last day of ownership will be Sunday, April 16, the post said.

"We have some bittersweet news to share. After a lot of thought, I've made the difficult decision to sell the bakery," the post said. "It's been an incredible journey filled with so much fun and support from all of you that I am forever grateful for."

The bakery celebrated its two-year anniversary in September. Customers know the business for its specialty cakes, cookies, and pies.

"I’ve had the opportunity to make amazing cakes, meet you all, and work with some of the best people I know and for that I am so thankful," the post said.

About 70 people commented on the post, thanking the bakery for making their celebrations extra memorable with a specialty cake.

"You customized my daughter's baby shower cake 2½ yrs ago and not only was it delicious, it was such a BIG hit, even the staff at the restaurant we held the shower commented on what an awesome cake it was!" wrote one customer. "Thank you for everything!"

Another person said that the bakery had made her family's cakes for the past six years.

"Although I'm sad to see this chapter of my life close, I'm excited to move on to new adventures and opportunities," the bakery's post said. "I believe that life is about growth and sometimes that means making tough choices to prioritize our well-being."

The post also wished the new owner luck in their new chapter.

"Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the support you've shown me throughout the years and trusting us with your special events," the post said. "You've made this journey one I'll remember forever."
