Bay Shore FD Rescues Trapped Driver After 2-Car Crash

Firefighters removed the car door to free the driver, a social media post said.

BAY SHORE, NY — A driver who was trapped inside their car after a two-car crash at a Bay Shore intersection was rescued by firefighters on Thursday morning, the Bay Shore Fire Department said on social media.

Suffolk County police told Patch that officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at about 11:57 a.m.

According to the fire department's social media post, the crash occurred at Brentwood Road and Tillie Street.

Firefighters worked to remove a door and free the trapped driver. Both drivers were eventually taken to a nearby hospital, the post said.

The crash is currently under investigation.
