Bay Shore Man Piles Up Criminal Charges: Suffolk Police

Police looking for him after two incidents in January said they found drugs in his possession when he was arrested Saturday.

BAY SHORE, NY — A Bay Shore man faces multiple charges after two incidents in January led Suffolk police to seek his arrest.

A man told Suffolk County police he was driving on Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore on Jan. 23 when an unknown man pulled up next to him and displayed what appeared to be a handgun.

Following an investigation, Jose Salazar was arrested Saturday. When he was arrested, he was found to be in possession of narcotics, police said.

Salazar was also charged in reference to an incident at 12:52 p.m. Jan. 26 when officers tried to make a vehicle traffic stop on Cedar Avenue in Bay Shore with lights and sirens and the driver fled, police said.

Salazar now faces charges of second degree menacing, third-degree fleeing a police officer, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
