Suffolk Motorcyclist Crashes Into Car, Critically Injured: Police

The motorcyclist is in critical condition, police say.

BAY SHORE, NY — A motorcyclist is critically injured after he drove into another car in Bay Shore on Friday, Suffolk County Police said.

The 23-year-old was operating a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on 5th Avenue at about 9:10 p.m. when he drove into the driver’s side door of a 2003 Honda sedan traveling eastbound through the intersection at Dowsing Avenue.

The Bay Shore man was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the Honda was also taken to the same hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
