Bay Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade Now Canceled
After initially planning to keep the parade on, organizers have decided to close because of COVID-19.

BAY SHORE, NY — After organizers told Patch on Wednesday that the Bay Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade would still be held amid new coronavirus concerns, the parade has now been cancelled. The call was made on Thursday as Long Island cases rose and a staff member at a West Islip School District tested positive for the virus, triggering a closure of West Islip schools.
According to Suffolk County Legislator Tom Cilmi, who received an email from the office of Islip Town Councilman John Cochrane, the parade was canceled today. The parade had been scheduled for this Saturday, March 14 at 2 p.m.
