Bay Shore Teachers Support Operation VEST

Bay Shore teachers walk 2.2 miles and plunge into the Great South Bay to support veterans and active military.

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, members of the BSCTA (Bay Shore Classroom Teachers’ Association) participated in Operation VEST's 22° Run and Plunge in Brightwaters, N.Y. Operation VEST (Veterans Ending Suicide Together) aims to, “eradicate suicide one at a time by addressing the different needs of our veteran population. [They] aim to create awareness and remove stigma surrounding mental health so our veterans and active military can heal.” (https://www.operationvest.org) Team BSCTA donated money, walked 2.2 miles, and plunged into the icy Great South Bay to show support and appreciation for our veterans and active military. We are already looking forward to next year’s event!
